iPhone 4s iOS8 crash
It will show a higher position for a note like high G then the A above G it shows a lower position on the same string. Just spent $9 to have false information.
I love it!
This app is great for when you’re on the go: on the bus, in-line, or in bed. If you want to learn the notes on the fretboard without caring your guitar around it’s perfect BUT the sound will not work on my phone! I need to hear the pitch. All in all great app!
Generally speaking the app has a very dated Web 2.0 looking interface and it’s lacking in all but the most basic features that other software offers. Want to practice with only naturals? Sorry! Want to specify *any* options in ‘game’ mode? Again, nope. Want to increase the difficulty and skip the first 20 or so levels of basic 5 fret quizzing? Sorry! I was hoping for a ‘note hunter’ mode where you could be given a note and have to track them all down. This app is super basic, practice mode and a progressive difficulty quiz mode, that’s it. I recommend looking a Fretonomy instead.
Outstanding way to learn the notes on the fretboard!! Amazing app!!
“The more that you can show “would-be” guitarists direct lines to “real-world music” … the more that these dreams can become new ideas, ready to adapt to any number of dreams !!!

I am left handed, so there is no option to switch alignment in the app. I want to cancel my subscription, but there are no clear directions and it is not found on my Apple subscriptions in settings. This means I will have to call my credit card to cancel. Not good. Please do better in the future. Yours, Lin Buer
I LOVE this app. The only ask I’d have is if there could b an adjustment for image size. OR, even better; a version for pc. U can’t see the whole fretboard on my smartphone.
Re-ordering the strings while keeping the headstock on the left is wrong. I really want to like this app and it's wrong to judge it harshly solely on this one issue, but this is a big deal. If the shoe (literally?) were on the other foot, you would do something about it. Edit: I’m disappointed that this hasn’t been addressed, years later. Left hand guitar isn’t upside down right hand.
Chords?
I’ve tried several apps and definitely like this one the best!
Great teaching app but the ads are absolutely overwhelming. It is not worth the time wasted in ads.
I hate to change me I used to be for the lower notes actually saw the note now you what you do is you use 8vaTo see that it is lowerThat was helping me am I note reading And now I don’t even get a guitar song for some reason that feature is not working with you click on it or not can I get the light version back again
This app is helping me to “burn in” the notes on the fretboard (I.e. associate the piano keyboard with their locations on the fretboard).
Great app! I highly suggest upgrading to your instrument for a couple of dollars. It’s simple and great for practicing in situations like riding a bus or someplace where you can’t play. I also love the leaderboard feature! It pushes you to do more! I would recommend this to anyone. Score 8.6/10
Sadly, this program doesn’t well for baritone ukulele. Yes, you can select ukulele for your instrument, and select baritone tuning, but the instrument you see does not have enough frets. The ukulele that you see in the training has 12 frets between the nut and where the neck joins the body. But on a baritone uke, it’s typically the 15th fret where the neck joints the body. You want to train your mind that at the 12th fret the notes are DGBE. But you do NOT want to train your mind to “see” this pattern in the wrong place, in relation to the body of the instrument. Any chance of adding a separate instrument for baritone ukulele? Or perhaps a feature where you could specify the number of frets?
Purchased app. No sound! Continues to say my phone is on mute. Can listen to Other apps no problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled it nothing. Not happy about it. If you can’t fix this please refund my money thank you so much
The ads make this nearly unusable
Glad this app was created. Covers learning the keyboard and staff as well as other skills such, as basic ear training, in a fun and engaging way!! Keep up the good work!!
Another update: App back to being “mostly great”... can’t turn off sounding the notes. Everything else is fixed. ————————————- Update: now neither app will open (only goes to gray screen and then hangs until it times out and returns to my desktop). It feels like it may have something to do with trying to sync with the cloud and then crashes. I did use this app every day. Now I can’t get it to run. I am on an iPad Pro 11.0 w/256 G memory and LOTS of available storage and latest iOS. —————————- I owned both apps and purchased “all” instruments on both apps ($14). Now, it appears, I only need one of the apps to have on my iPad so after updating today, every time I open either app I have to reset the “restore purchases”... I’m sure this is just a glitch that needs to be corrected. I only rated the app one star so the developer will be sure to see it. When this is corrected I will again rate it 5 stars and remove this review. Thanks!
Great learning tool
I use it for learning notes on the mandolin fretboard. It's fun and helpful. A feature I really like is that you can limit the number of strings it quizzes you on.
Love it. Great app...10 minutes at bed time and u are on a our way
Can you fix the game exiting arbitrarily? I’m using the 8 string guitar and very frequently, without any particular patter of usage, the game exits! Other than that, I love this app! And you’ll love it too!
It’s great to be able to fill in those lost minutes while sitting in a waiting room or a traffic jam with the all necessary practice, practice, practice.
Way too many ads on the free version and the app kind of “forces” you to learn how it wants you to learn. There are better apps on the store that are cheaper, and even give more functionality than this.
This app has potential, but once you get going, you are inundated with adds. If you play the game portion, you actually spend more time being forced to watch adds than playing. Of course, you can pay a fee to remove the adds. Why bother when there are other free apps that do the same thing. I finally deleted the app after getting tired of all the adds.
This app is okay. It would be nice to have it in landscape, but the notes do not rotate so it it too hard to use in that orientation. This app is plagued with ads. Very so many interactions an ad will pop up. When you make a certain number of navigations an ad pops up. In a span of about 30 seconds I have 3 different ads pop up. It is annoying because you have to sit and watch them for a minimum period of time. I do not believe I would recommend this app.
Not working after last update. Was enjoying learning the staff up till then!
Extremely annoying how they place the "unlock guitars" right below the note selections, so you are constantly selecting it by mistake. Why do otherwise good apps feel it is necessary to scam, con, or annoy people into buying more? In this case it won't work. I've deleted the app!
Went off with a unwarranted reminder to use the app during an inopportune time. Totally unprofessional and deleting app as soon as this is posted. A shame because this would be a great application and with many teaching uses. But I will not use an application that is so pestering and sends notifications that are completely unwanted.
Love this thing, I use it daily! Highly recommended.
If you want to be a better player, you nenes to know the notes on the fretboard backwards and forwards. This app is the perfect way to practice. Got a few minutes? Put the time to good use.
This app was working fine an was enjoining with no issues but suddenly it stops working with a Download failed error when trying to open any option. Please fix it. I really recommend this app
Helped me learn the notes. Building up from the first 5 frets so I could then transition I to the caged system for chords.
You can only access open notes through the 5th fret before you have to pay $2.99 to unlock just one instrument [guitar]. Too much money for one instrument and there are six instruments total. There are a number of free apps that give you full access without a fee.
This is an outstanding app. It gives you the luxury of practice and memorisation through repetition and reinforcement. Much like what flash cards use to do. I use it everywhere and with my guitar as well. It truly is what I was searching for.
Really helpful app to remember fretboard
Really annoying ads.
The best Ap I've seen and used to learn to read music and learn the fretboard. I downloaded the free version and ended up buying the full version within 20 minutes. Try it, you will love it!
Excellent approach to learning the entire fretboard. Takes time as there's no shortcuts to sight reading but this app definitely helps.
I understand developers want/need you to buy their product by placing adds in the free version of the program but when you slam full screen, LOUD adds in my face, you just lost a sale.
This is good app! I enjoy it. It is good for learning and reminds you to practice! Very good app in my opinion!!
It's really helpful to remember every note on fretboard!
No matter what you click on you get an ad, and then when you get back to the main menu and try an option you get another ad. No content at all. Very sad. You try the free app in order to see if you want to purchase the app without ads. When the free app doesn't work you delete it and move on
Excellent app for learning the notes on the fretboard. Keeps track of your progress and helps tremendously. The free version has ads every few minutes but once you buy the instruments it is unlimited and well worth the small price to learn the notes on the go.
Every 24 notes you get an ad and $2.99 to buy. Google has a site that does the same thing free.
Good app, works well, no bugs so far. Does exactly what you need it to do.
