Forget flash cards, too. Trainer HD makes the tedious process of memorizing the fretboard painless and fun. Pick an instrument or alternate tuning and go for a perfect score. The game is addictive and I can "practice" any time I have few minutes to spare. I have it on my phone and my iPad so its always available. A super addition to my training tools.

An educational application. Great for guitarists!!!

It doesnt TEACH the fretboard, you have to hen peck your way into guessing what youre hearing. Fine if you have background in the instrument but terrible for a beginner. Doubly aggravating are the infestation of ads that take up to 30 seconds to play after every 3-4 notes you pluck. Junk.

Ads! I didn’t pay to have ads!

I like this program but the next time that screaming guitar comes on at 9:00pm trying to bully me into playing right this minute Im going to uninstall it. Its not a good enough app to put up with the nagging and there are lots of other apps that do the same thing. The adds ruin the flow of the game

Did just what they advertised

At least until they fixed the many bugs. Frequently freezes and gets stuck in bizarre on-screen configurations. The$2.99 ad free version should be refunded. There are better guitar ear trainer apps. This one stinks.

I am a multi-instrumentalist, but have had no previous experience with strings. This app does well for me, particularly with the exercises that teach fingering to standard notation.

Theres plenty of other apps that do this exact same thing for free. Dont buy this

Makes learning fun.

Learning the fretboard is very difficult. This helps, but I can think of one improvement. Currently, the moment you touch your answer to indicate your note guess, the question-mark-circle location on the fretboard disappears, replaced with a "correct" or "incorrect" notice. It would be strongly beneficial if the location circle would remain in view for a few seconds to allow the brain to absorb the association between the correct note and its location on the fretboard.

Good app, works well, no bugs so far. Does exactly what you need it to do.

Every 24 notes you get an ad and $2.99 to buy. Google has a site that does the same thing free.

Excellent app for learning the notes on the fretboard. Keeps track of your progress and helps tremendously. The free version has ads every few minutes but once you buy the instruments it is unlimited and well worth the small price to learn the notes on the go.

Re-ordering the strings while keeping the headstock on the left is wrong. I really want to like this app and its wrong to judge it harshly solely on this one issue, but this a big deal. If the shoe (literally?) were on the other foot, you would do something about it.

No matter what you click on you get an ad, and then when you get back to the main menu and try an option you get another ad. No content at all. Very sad. You try the free app in order to see if you want to purchase the app without ads. When the free app doesnt work you delete it and move on
